Concussion and Vestibular Physiotherapy

Concussion and vertigo physiotherapy is specialised physical therapy focusing on helping individuals recover from a concussion or episodes of vertigo, including restoring balance, reducing dizziness, and improving overall function.

I began my education at Brock University where I obtained a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Kinesiology. As a former ice hockey, field hockey, and track and field athlete I volunteered as a student athletic trainer throughout university, finding a passion for people and health care. Inspired by this I earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College.

Throughout my time in New York state, I was an intern at a Veterans Affair clinic in Rochester as well as a health center in the Buffalo area. This gave me experience treating a variety conditions. I’m certified in the Webster technique, which gives me the skills and knowledge to treat pregnant and post-partum patients. My commitment to lifelong learning includes continuing my education in the pediatric and women’s health field.

My passion for overall health and wellness led me to chiropractic. I use many techniques including manual mobilizations and massage, targeted active exercises, and lifestyle recommendations to work with you to reach your wellness goals. Patient centered care is a priority to me, meaning every appointment is about you, your needs, and comfort level.

Being from Elmira, Ontario I returned to Waterloo Region to be close to my friends and family. I spend my time staying active at the gym, reading, or visiting our family cottage on Georgian Bay.

Yoga Instructor

Certified YogaFit Yoga Teacher, Aquafitness Instructor, Lifesaving Society First Aid Instructor, Canfitpro Fitness Instructor Specialist, STRONGNation® Instructor, and Pound® Fitness Instructor.

My philosophy for fitness is: It doesn’t matter what you do, as long as you just keep moving!

As a child, I was always active and couldn’t stay still; but as an adult, I constantly struggle with finding the motivation and time to just get active. If this sounds familiar, remember that any movement is good movement (as long as it is pain-free)! 10 minutes of movement is better than nothing and you will often feel better afterward.

While I teach a number of different fitness formats, I am truly at peace while swimming laps at the local pool and while practicing yoga. Finding the balance between cardio and calm was lifechanging for me and inspired me to become a Yoga Teacher. I love gentle, accessible movement, and thrive in sharing my passion for yoga with others.

In my spare time, I love going to concerts, trying new crafts and activities, and cleaning.
